Japan Open: Mandlik overcomes Marino in three sets to reach last eight
The American will face the winner of the match between Chinese Lin Zhu, the top seed, and Japanese wildcard Moyuka Uchijima next

American qualifier Elizabeth Mandlik won against Canadian Rebecca Marino 7-5, 3-6, 6-1 to reach the quarter-finals of the Kinoshita Group Japan Open Tennis Championships on Thursday.
Mandlik, ranked No 167 and daughter of multiple Grand Slam winner Hana Mandlikova, will play the winner of the match between Chinese Lin Zhu, the top seed, and Japanese wildcard Moyuka Uchijima next.
The 22-year-old American defeated Frenchwoman Diane Parry (7-5, 6-2) in the previous round.
In the previous round, Marino, ranked No 129, won against Japanese Nao Hibino, the No 7 seed (6-3, 6-4).
