Russian Anna Kalinskaya advanced to the last 16 of the Kinoshita Group Japan Open Tennis Championships by defeating German Jule Niemeier 6-4, 6-4 on Tuesday.
Kalinskaya, ranked No 92, will face Harriet Dart for a spot in the quarter-finals.
