Japan Open: Hontama into second round, to meet Podoroska next
The Japanese wildcard won against Su Jeong Jang 7-5, 0-6, 6-2 in the first round on Tuesday

Japanese wildcard Mai Hontama reached the last 16 of the Kinoshita Group Japan Open Tennis Championships by beating Su Jeong Jang 7-5, 0-6, 6-2 on Tuesday.
Hontama, ranked No 176, will play Argentinian Nadia Podoroska, the No 5 seed, next.
