Jiangxi Open: Bouzkova to face Golubic in semi-finals
The top seed defeated Kamilla Rakhimova 6-2, 6-2 in Friday’s quarter-finals
Top seed Marie Bouzkova advanced to the last four of the Jiangxi Open by winning against Russian Kamilla Rakhimova, the No 5 seed, 6-2, 6-2 on Friday.
With the win, Bouzkova improves to 2-0 lifetime against Rakhimova with both their clashes coming in 2024. It was also her 25th win of the season and will be gunning to reach her third WTA final of the season while still searching for her first title of the year.
Bouzkova, ranked No 49, will play Swiss Viktorija Golubic next.
Earlier in the tournament, the Czech defeated Filipino Alexandra Eala (7-5, 7-6 (4)) and Chinese lucky loser Xinxin Yao (6-3, 6-3).
Rakhimova, ranked No 63, edged out Croat Petra Martic (6-1, 4-6, 7-5) and Elena Pridankina (4-6, 6-4, 7-5) in the previous rounds of the tournament.
