Hungarian Anna Bondar edged out Dutchwoman Arianne Hartono 6-2, 2-6, 7-6 (3) to reach the second round of the Jiangxi Open on Tuesday.
Bondar, ranked No 97, will face Italian Martina Trevisan next.
