Croat qualifier Antonia Ruzic won against Yuriko Lily Miyazaki 6-3, 6-1 to move into the quarter-finals of the Jasmin Open at the Skanes Family Hotel Monastir on Thursday evening.
Ruzic, ranked No 173, will face the winner of the match between Italian Lucia Bronzetti, the No 7 seed, and American Ann Li next.
The 21-year-old Croat edged out Argentinian Nadia Podoroska, the No 4 seed (1-6, 6-2, 6-4) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round of the Monastir tournament, Miyazaki, ranked No 166, defeated American Alycia Parks (6-3, 5-7, 6-3).
