Italian Jasmine Paolini, the top seed, won against Ukrainian Lesia Tsurenko, the No 4 seed, 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 to advance to the final of the Jasmin Open at the Skanes Family Hotel Monastir on Saturday afternoon.
The world No 30 was impressive across the two hour, 25 minute encounter, saving an incredible 19 of 24 break points in the three set victory. Paolini will now face the winner of the match between Frenchwoman Clara Burel, the No 8 seed, and Belgian Elise Mertens, the second seed, next.
The Italian defeated Frenchwoman Alize Cornet (6-4, 6-2), Croat wildcard Petra Marcinko (6-4, 3-6, 6-2) and No 6 seed Lucia Bronzetti (7-5, 7-6 (3)) ahead of her victory.
Earlier in the tournament, Tsurenko, ranked No 34, beat French qualifier Chloe Paquet (6-2, 6-3), American Claire Liu (6-1, 7-5) and Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz (6-3, 6-2).
