Jasmin Open: Kartal reaches second round
Sonay Kartal edged out Jaqueline Cristian 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 on Tuesday evening and will play Japanese Mai Hontama in the next round

Qualifier Sonay Kartal advanced to the second round of the Jasmin Open by edging out Romanian Jaqueline Cristian, the No 5 seed, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 at the Skanes Family Hotel Monastir on Tuesday evening.
Kartal, ranked No 151, will play Japanese Mai Hontama next.
