Jasmin Open: Hontama breezes past Podoroska to reach the quarter-finals

Japanese Mai Hontama beat Argentinian Nadia Podoroska 6-2, 6-1 to advance to the quarter-finals of the Jasmin Open at the Skanes Family Hotel Monastir.
Hontama, ranked No 124, will face Belgian Elise Mertens, the second seed, next.
In the previous round of the Monastir tournament, the Japanese won against Spaniard Aliona Bolsova (4-6, 6-4, 6-0).
Podoroska, ranked No 77, edged out Slovak Anna Karolina Schmiedlova, the No 5 seed (3-6, 6-4, 7-5) during the first round of the Monastir tournament.
