Italian Open: Svitolina moves into last 16, faces Sabalenka next

Ukrainian Elina Svitolina, the No 16 seed, advanced to the last 16 of the Italian Open by winning against Russian Anna Kalinskaya, the No 23 seed, 6-3, 6-3 at the Foro Italico in Roma on Sunday evening.

Svitolina, ranked No 19, will play Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, the second seed, next.

In the previous round of the Rome tournament, the Ukrainian beat Italian wildcard Sara Errani (6-0, 6-2).

Kalinskaya, ranked No 26, defeated Dane qualifier Clara Tauson (6-1, 6-2) in the 64 of the Rome tournament.
