Italian Open: Shnaider upsets Samsonova to book spot in third round
Diana Shnaider beat Liudmila Samsonova 6-1, 6-3. She’ll face the winner of the match between Emma Navarro and Paula Badosa in the next round

Diana Shnaider moved into the third round of the Italian Open by beating No 15 seed Liudmila Samsonova 6-1, 6-3 at the Foro Italico in Rome.
Shnaider, ranked No 62, will face the winner of the match between American Emma Navarro, the No 21 seed, and Spaniard Paula Badosa next.
Diana Shnaider defeated Belgian Greet Minnen (6-2, 6-3) in the previous round of the Rome tournament.
