American Shelby Rogers moved into the second round of the Italian Open by defeating Italian wildcard Lisa Pigato 6-1, 6-0 at the Foro Italico in Roma on Tuesday.
Rogers, ranked No 398, will play No 7 seed Qinwen Zheng next.
