Italian Open: Muchova makes third round with win over home hope Trevisan
Karolina Muchova edged out Martina Trevisan 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 on Friday. She’ll face the winner of the match between Italian Camila Giorgi and Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova, the No 15 seed, in the next round
Czech Karolina Muchova reached the third round of the Italian Open by edging out Italian Martina Trevisan, the No 18 seed, 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 at the Foro Italico in Rome on Friday.
Muchova, ranked No 52, will face the winner of the match between Italian Camila Giorgi and Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova, the No 15 seed, next.
The Czech won against Russian lucky loser Kamilla Rakhimova (6-4, 7-5) in the previous round of the Rome tournament.
