Varvara Gracheva beat Federica Di Sarra 6-1, 6-3 on Thursday and will play No 5 seed Maria Sakkari in the next round

French qualifier Varvara Gracheva advanced to the second round of the Italian Open by beating Italian wildcard Federica Di Sarra 6-1, 6-3 at the Foro Italico in Rome.
Gracheva, ranked No 88, will face No 5 seed Maria Sakkari next.
