Italian Open: Badosa books spot in fourth round
Paula Badosa defeated Marta Kostyuk 6-4, 6-2 on Sunday. She’ll play Czech Karolina Muchova in the next round
Spaniard Paula Badosa beat Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk, the No 32 seed, 6-4, 6-2 to reach the fourth round of the Italian Open at the Foro Italico in Rome on Sunday.
Badosa, ranked No 35, will play Czech Karolina Muchova next.
Earlier in the tournament, the Spaniard edged out German qualifier Anna-Lena Friedsam (4-6, 6-2, 7-6 (2)) and won against Tunisian Ons Jabeur, the No 4 seed (6-1, 6-4).
Kostyuk, ranked No 40, won against American Claire Liu (6-0, 6-4) in the previous round of the Rome tournament.
