Strasbourg Open: Kerber advances to final

German Angelique Kerber, the second seed, advanced to the final of the Strasbourg Open when Frenchwoman Oceane Dodin withdrew on Friday evening at the Tennis Club de Strasbourg.
Kerber, ranked No 22, led 7-6 [2], 1-0 when Dodin, ranked No 94, pulled out on Friday evening..
The 34-year-old German will face Slovenian Kaja Juvan for the title after she upset top seed Karolina Pliskova 6-2, 7-5.
Kerber beat Frenchwoman Diane Parry (6-3, 6-4), Belarusian qualifier Aliaksandra Sasnovich (6-2, 3-6, 6-4) and Pole Magda Linette, the No 8 seed (6-2, 4-6, 6-4) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds, the Frenchman won against Croat Ana Konjuh (6-2, 1-6, 7-5), Russian qualifier Ekaterina Makarova (6-2, 6-1) and Swiss Viktorija Golubic, the No 9 seed (6-3, 6-0).
