Krejcikova topples Cirstea to emerge as champion in Strasbourg
Barbora Krejcikova won the final of the Strasbourg WTA 250 on Saturday, getting the best of Sorana Cirstea 6-3, 6-3. It is the first title of Krejcikova’s career.

Barbora Krejcikova is a champion on the WTA Tour for the first time after she beat Sorana Cirstea 6-3, 6-3 in the final of the Internationaux de Strasbourg on Saturday.
Krejcikova double-faulted a ridiculous 10 times, but she made up for it by breaking Cirstea’s serve six times on 13 chances. The Czech triumphed after one hour and 39 minutes.
“I feel very emotional, really happy,” Krejcikova said during the trophy ceremony. “It was an amazing week for me. I don’t have many words, I’m shaking; super excited to win my first WTA title.”
