Indian Wells WTA 1000: Vekic reaches third round
Donna Vekic beat Elina Avanesyan 6-3, 6-3 on Saturday evening and will face the winner of the match between American Emma Navarro, the No 10 seed, and Romanian Sorana Cirstea in the next round

Croat Donna Vekic, the No 19 seed, advanced to the third round of the Indian Wells WTA 1000 by defeating Armenian Elina Avanesyan 6-3, 6-3 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on Saturday evening.
Vekic, ranked No 22, will play the winner of the match between American Emma Navarro, the No 10 seed, and Romanian Sorana Cirstea next.
In the previous round of the Indian Wells tournament, Avanesyan, ranked No 39, won against American Lauren Davis (6-4, 6-2).
