Indian Wells WTA 1000: Muchova cruises into third round

No 15 seed Karolina Muchova won against Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto 6-4, 6-3 to move into the third round of the Indian Wells WTA 1000 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on Friday evening.

Muchova, ranked No 15, will play the winner of the match between Katerina Siniakova and Kazakh Yulia Putintseva, the No 21 seed, next.

Cocciaretto, ranked No 72, benefited from the abandonment of Mexican Renata Zarazua (6-4, 1-0) in the previous round of the Indian Wells tournament.
