Indian Wells WTA 1000: Kudermetova reaches third round
Polina Kudermetova beat Ekaterina Alexandrova 7-5, 6-2 on Saturday evening. She’ll play the winner of the match between lucky loser Sonay Kartal and Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia, the No 16 seed, in the next round

Polina Kudermetova defeated No 20 seed Ekaterina Alexandrova 7-5, 6-2 to reach the third round of the Indian Wells WTA 1000 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on Saturday.
Kudermetova, ranked No 60, will face the winner of the match between lucky loser Sonay Kartal and Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia, the No 16 seed, next.
Polina Kudermetova won against American qualifier Claire Liu (6-4, 6-2) in the previous round of the Indian Wells tournament.
