Indian Wells WTA 1000: Kostyuk books spot in third round

Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk, the No 18 seed, moved into the third round of the Indian Wells WTA 1000 by winning against American wildcard Robin Montgomery 6-1, 6-3 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on Friday evening.
Kostyuk, ranked No 24, will play the winner of the match between American wildcard Caroline Dolehide and German lucky loser Eva Lys next.
Montgomery, ranked No 107, defeated German qualifier Jule Niemeier (3-6, 7-5, 6-2) in the previous round of the Indian Wells tournament.
