Indian Wells: Rybakina into final
Elena Rybakina defeated Iga Swiatek 6-2, 6-2 on Saturday night. She’ll face Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, the second seed, in the final
Kazakh Elena Rybakina, the No 10 seed, beat Pole Iga Swiatek, the top seed, 6-2, 6-2 to advance to the final of the Indian Wells at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on Saturday night.
Rybakina, ranked No 10, will face Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, the second seed, next.
The Kazakh won against American wildcard Sofia Kenin (7-6 (6), 7-6 (5)), Spaniard Paula Badosa, the No 21 seed (6-3, 7-5), Russian qualifier Varvara Gracheva (6-3, 6-0) and Czech Karolina Muchova (7-6 (4), 2-6, 6-4) in the previous rounds of the Indian Wells tournament.
Earlier in the tournament, Swiatek, ranked No 1, defeated American Claire Liu (6-0, 6-1), Canadian Bianca Andreescu, the No 32 seed (6-3, 7-6 (1)), Emma Raducanu (6-3, 6-1) and Romanian Sorana Cirstea (6-2, 6-3).
