Indian Wells: Peterson advances as 22nd seed Zhang retires, gets Teichmann next
The Swede was leading Shuai Zhang 3-0 when the Chinese 22nd seed was forced to retire from the second round match

Swede Rebecca Peterson reached the third round of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells when Chinese Shuai Zhang, the No 22 seed, retired on Friday.
Peterson, ranked No 103, led 3-0 when Zhang, ranked No 27, pulled out at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on Friday night.
The Swede will play Jil Teichmann next. Earlier in the tournament, Rebecca Peterson edged out Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk (7-5, 5-7, 7-5).
