Polish lucky loser Magdalena Frech reached the second round of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells by winning against Belgian Maryna Zanevska 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 on Thursday.
Frech, ranked No 106, will play No 4 seed Ons Jabeur next.
