Iga Swiatek begins 100th week as world No 1 – WTA rankings update
The Pole is just the ninth woman in history to top the WTA rankings
Iga Swiatek joined an elite band of players on Monday as she began her 100th week as the WTA world No 1.
The Pole took over top spot in April 2022 after Ash Barty retired and with the exception of a few weeks, has topped the rankings ever since.
Swiatek is just the ninth woman to be No 1 for 100 weeks or more, joining Steffi Graf (who leads with 377), Martina Navratilova (332), Serena Williams (319), Chris Evert (260), Martina Hingis (209), Monica Seles (178), Barty (121) and Justine Henin (117) as members of the 100 club.
Kostyuk on verge of top 20; Stephens climbs
Swiatek remains well clear at the top, sitting with 10,560 points, almost 3,000 points ahead of Aryna Sabalenka in second spot. The only other change in the top 10 seed Marketa Vondrousova rising one spot to No 7, swapping places with Qinwen Zheng.
Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk hits a new career-high ranking of No 21 after he brilliant run to the final in Stuttgart, climbing six places, while American Sloane Stephens is also up six, to No 33, after winning in Rouen for her first title since 2022.
