Slovenian Tamara Zidansek, the No 8 seed, reached the last 16 of the Iasi Open by winning against Russian qualifier Anastasia Tikhonova 6-4, 6-2 at Baza Sportivă Ciric on Monday.
Zidansek, ranked No 139 and a former Roland-Garros semi-finalist, will play the winner of the match between Belarusian wildcard Kristina Dmitruk and Romanian wildcard Andreea Prisacariu next.
