Iasi Open: Paquet beats Waltert to move into last eight

Frenchwoman Chloe Paquet advanced to the quarter-finals of the Iasi Open by winning against Swiss qualifier Simona Waltert 6-1, 7-5 at the Ciric Sports Base.
Paquet, ranked No 106, will face French qualifier Selena Janicijevic next.
Ahead of her victory, the Frenchwoman beat Argentinian Maria Lourdes Carle, the No 7 seed (6-4, 6-2).
Waltert, ranked No 249, defeated Russian Ekaterina Makarova (6-2, 6-2) in the previous round of the Iasi tournament.
