Montenegrin Danka Kovinic, the No 4 seed, advanced to the last 16 of the Iasi Open by winning against Argentinian Julia Riera 6-3, 6-4 at Baza Sportivă Ciric on Monday afternoon.
Kovinic, ranked No 95, will face the winner of the match between Cypriot Raluka Serban and Russian qualifier Ekaterina Yashina next.
