Iasi Open: Bulgaru upsets Maria in first round
Miriam Bulgaru won against Tatjana Maria 6-4, 6-2 on Sunday evening and will face the winner of the match between Bulgarian qualifier Gergana Topalova and French qualifier Selena Janicijevic in the next round

Romanian wildcard Miriam Bulgaru advanced to the second round of the Iasi Open by defeating German Tatjana Maria, the second seed, 6-4, 6-2 at the Ciric Sports Base on Sunday evening.
Bulgaru, ranked No 206, will play the winner of the match between Bulgarian qualifier Gergana Topalova and French qualifier Selena Janicijevic next.
