Spaniard Marina Bassols Ribera moved into the second round of the Iasi Open by beating Romanian wildcard Irina Bara 6-2, 6-3 at the Ciric Sports Base.
Bassols Ribera, ranked No 121, will play the winner of the match between Belgian qualifier Marie Benoit and Hungarian Anna Bondar, the No 8 seed, next.
