Chinese Xiyu Wang, the No 3 seed, won against Romanian Anca Todoni 7-6 (4), 7-5 to advance to the second round of the Hungarian Open at Római Tennis Academy in Budapest.
Wang, ranked No 54, will face Slovak Rebecca Sramkova next.
