Hungarian Open: Defending champion Timofeeva beats Waltert to reach second round
The Russian will face Belarusian Aliaksandra Sasnovich in the next round

Russian Maria Timofeeva beat Swiss qualifier Simona Waltert 7-5, 7-6 (3) to reach the second round of the Hungarian Open at Római Tennis Academy in Budapest on Monday.
Timofeeva, ranked No 103, will play Belarusian Aliaksandra Sasnovich next. The Russian is the defending champion this week.
