Spaniard Sara Sorribes Tormo, the No 4 seed, edged out Bulgarian qualifier Gergana Topalova 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 to move into the second round of the Hungarian Open at Római Tennis Academy in Budapest on Monday.
Sorribes Tormo, ranked No 59, will play Slovak Anna Karolina Schmiedlova next.
