Pera moves into Budapest quarter-finals, defeating seed No5 Sasnovich

American qualifier Bernarda Pera reached the quarter-finals of the Hungarian Grand Prix by defeating Belarusian Aliaksandra Sasnovich, the No 5 seed, 7-5, 6-2 at Római Tennis Academy in Budapest on Wednesday evening.
Pera, ranked No 130, will face the winner of the match between Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto and Czech Katerina Siniakova next.
The American won against Spanish lucky loser Marina Bassols Ribera (6-2, 7-5) in the previous round of the Hungarian Open. Sasnovich, ranked No 36, beat Hungarian qualifier Fanny Stollar (6-3, 0-6, 6-3).
