Bundapest : Bondar reaches last eight at home
Anna Bondar won against Despina Papamichail 6-2, 6-3 on Wednesday evening and will face Italian Martina Trevisan, the second seed, in the next round
Hungarian Anna Bondar, the No 9 seed, advanced to the quarter-finals of the Hungarian Grand Prix by winning against Greek qualifier Despina Papamichail 6-2, 6-3 at Római Tennis Academy in Budapest on Wednesday evening.
Bondar, ranked No 53, will face Italian Martina Trevisan, the second seed, next.
The Hungarian beat Czech qualifier Jesika Maleckova (6-4, 6-4) in the previous round of the Hungarian Open. Papamichail, ranked No 195, defeated Hungarian Dalma Galfi (7-6 (4), 6-3).
