Hong Kong 125 Open: Kessler through to quarter-finals
McCartney Kessler defeated Mananchaya Sawangkaew on Thursday and will play Australian Ajla Tomljanovic in the next round

American McCartney Kessler, the No 5 seed, advanced to the quarter-finals of the Hong Kong 125 Open by beating Thai Mananchaya Sawangkaew 6-3, 6-2 on Thursday.
Kessler, ranked No 65, will face Australian Ajla Tomljanovic next.
The American won against wildcard Eudice Wong Chong (6-3, 6-4) in the previous round.
During the 32, Sawangkaew, ranked No 187, edged out American Alycia Parks (5-7, 6-3, 6-4).
