Frenchwoman Varvara Gracheva, the No 4 seed, edged out Dutchwoman Suzan Lamens 4-6, 7-6 (5), 6-4 to move into the last four of the Hong Kong 125 Open on Friday.
Gracheva, ranked No 62, will play Dane Clara Tauson, the No 6 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the Frenchwoman won against Chinese qualifier YeXin Ma (0-6, 6-1, 6-2) and American Hailey Baptiste (6-3, 6-3).
Lamens, ranked No 137, edged out Arianne Hartono (6-4, 1-6, 6-4) and defeated Hungarian Anna Bondar, the No 8 seed (3-6, 7-5, 6-1) earlier in the tournament.
