Australian Kimberly Birrell advanced to the last 16 of the Hong Kong 125 Open by winning against Chinese qualifier Yidi Yang 6-2, 6-0 on Tuesday.
Birrell, ranked No 146, will face the winner of the match between American Emma Navarro, the top seed, and Swiss Viktorija Golubic next.
