Hobart International: Qualifier Putintseva reaches quarter-finals
Yulia Putintseva beat Marie Bouzkova 6-4, 1-6, 6-3 on Wednesday and will face qualifier Yue Yuan in the next round
Kazakh qualifier Yulia Putintseva won against No 5 seed Marie Bouzkova 6-4, 1-6, 6-3 to advance to the last 8 of the Hobart International at the Hobart ’s Domain Tennis Centre on Wednesday.
Putintseva, ranked No 64, will face qualifier Yue Yuan next.
Ahead of her victory, the Kazakh edged out Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto (0-6, 7-5, 7-6 (4)).
Bouzkova, ranked No 35, beat Swiss qualifier Viktorija Golubic (6-2, 6-4) in the previous round of the Hobart tournament.
