Hamburg Open: Rus edges out Podoroska to move into quarter-finals
Arantxa Rus edged out Nadia Podoroska 6-3, 3-6, 7-5. She’ll face the winner of the match between Hungarian Panna Udvardy and German Eva Lys in the next round

Dutchwoman Arantxa Rus, the No 7 seed, edged out Argentinian Nadia Podoroska 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 to reach the last 8 of the Hamburg Open at Am Rothenbaum.
Rus, ranked No 60, will play the winner of the match between Hungarian Panna Udvardy and German Eva Lys next.
In the previous round of the Hamburg tournament, the Dutchwoman beat Russian Maria Timofeeva (6-2, 4-6, 6-1).
Podoroska, ranked No 66, won against Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova (6-1, 7-5) in the previous round of the Hamburg tournament.
