Kazakh Yulia Putintseva, the No 6 seed, defeated French qualifier Elsa Jacquemot 6-2, 6-4 to reach the last 16 of the Hamburg Open at Am Rothenbaum.
Putintseva, ranked No 58, will face the winner of the match between wildcard Ella Seidel and wildcard Jule Niemeier next.
