Hamburg Open: Potapova into last 4

Russian Anastasia Potapova defeated Czech Barbora Krejcikova, the No 3 seed, 6-1, 6-3 to move into the last 4 of the Hamburg Open at Am Rothenbaum in Hambourg on Thursday.
Potapova, ranked No 63, will face the winner of the match between Estonian Anett Kontaveit, the top seed, and German Andrea Petkovic, the No 8 seed, next.
Earlier in the tournament, the 21-year-old Russian won against No 6 seed Varvara Gracheva (7-5, 6-3) and Argentinian qualifier Maria Lourdes Carle (6-1, 6-4).
Krejcikova, ranked No 19, won against Dutch lucky loser Suzan Lamens (6-2, 6-4) and Pole Magdalena Frech (6-3, 6-0) in the previous rounds.
