Hamburg Open: Krejcikova makes quarter-finals

Barbora Krejcikova defeated Magdalena Frech 6-3, 6-0 on Tuesday evening. She’ll play the winner of the match between Argentinian qualifier Maria Lourdes Carle and Russian Anastasia Potapova in the next round

Czech Barbora Krejcikova, the No 3 seed, won against Pole Magdalena Frech 6-3, 6-0 to advance to the last 8 of the Hamburg Open at Am Rothenbaum in Hambourg on Tuesday evening.

Krejcikova, ranked No 19, will face the winner of the match between Argentinian qualifier Maria Lourdes Carle and Russian Anastasia Potapova next.

Ahead of her victory, the Czech beat Dutch lucky loser Suzan Lamens (6-2, 6-4).

Frech, ranked No 84, benefited from the abandonment of Russian Anna Kalinskaya (6-1) in the previous round.
