Hamburg Open: Kontaveit reaches final against Pera
Anett Kontaveit defeated Anastasia Potapova 6-3, 7-5 on Friday and will face American Bernarda Pera for the title
Estonian Anett Kontaveit, the top seed, reached the final of the Hamburg Open by winning against Russian Anastasia Potapova 6-3, 7-5 at Am Rothenbaum in Hambourg on Friday. Kontaveit, ranked No 2, will play American Bernarda Pera next.
The Estonian defeated Romanian Irina Bara (6-3, 7-6 (3)), Swede Rebecca Peterson (6-3, 6-2) and German Andrea Petkovic, the No 8 seed (6-0, 2-0 ret.) in the previous rounds.
Potapova, ranked No 63, beat No 6 seed Varvara Gracheva (7-5, 6-3), Argentinian qualifier Maria Lourdes Carle (6-1, 6-4) and Czech Barbora Krejcikova, the No 3 seed (6-1, 6-3).
