Hamburg Open: Kontaveit makes quarter-finals against Petkovic

Estonian Anett Kontaveit, the top seed, advanced to the last eight of the Hamburg Open by winning against Swede Rebecca Peterson 6-3, 6-2 at Am Rothenbaum in Hambourg on Wednesday evening.
Kontaveit, ranked No 2, will play German Andrea Petkovic, the No 8 seed, next.
In the previous round, the Estonian beat Romanian Irina Bara (6-3, 7-6 (3)) ahead of her victory. Peterson, ranked No 93, defeated Ukrainian lucky loser Kateryna Baindl (6-3, 6-0).
