Romanian Elena-Gabriela Ruse reached the last eight of the Hamburg European Open by winning against Serb qualifier Dejana Radanovic 7-5, 7-5 on Tuesday afternoon.
Ruse, ranked No 142, will face the winner of the match between Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu and German Tamara Korpatsch, the second seed, next.
The Romanian defeated Brazilian Laura Pigossi, the No 5 seed (6-3, 6-4) in the previous round.
In the previous round, Radanovic, ranked No 249, won against German wildcard Tessa Johanna Brockmann (6-3, 6-0).
