Dutchwoman Arantxa Rus, the No 3 seed, reached the final of the Hamburg European Open by beating Romanian Elena-Gabriela Ruse 6-4, 6-3 on Friday afternoon.
Rus, ranked No 101, will face Hungarian Anna Bondar, the No 4 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the 33-year-old Dutchman won against Suzan Lamens (6-1, 6-4), Croat Lea Boskovic (6-1, 6-1) and Russian Polina Kudermetova (6-2, 6-4).
Ruse, ranked No 142, defeated Brazilian Laura Pigossi, the No 5 seed (6-3, 6-4), Serb qualifier Dejana Radanovic (7-5, 7-5) and German Tamara Korpatsch, the second seed (6-1, 4-6, 6-3) earlier in the tournament.
