Serb Olga Danilovic won from a set down against against Egyptian Mayar Sherif, the top seed (3-6, 6-2, 6-1) to advance to the last four of the Hamburg European Open on Thursday.
Danilovic, ranked No 121, will face the winner of the match between Hungarian Anna Bondar, the No 4 seed, and German Eva Lys, the No 7 seed, on Friday.
The Serb defeated Slovak Rebecca Sramkova, the No 6 seed (6-3, 6-1) and edged out German Noma Noha Akugue (3-6, 6-2, 7-6 (6)) in the previous rounds.
Earlier in the tournament, Sherif, ranked No 83, was victorious against Belgian qualifier Marie Benoit (6-2, 6-1) and Ukrainian qualifier Anastasiya Sobolieva (6-1, 6-3).
