Hungarian Anna Bondar, the No 4 seed, won the Hamburg European Open title by beating Dutchwoman Arantxa Rus, the No 3 seed, 6-4, 6-2.
Earlier in the tournament, Bondar, ranked No 94, defeated German qualifier Anna Petkovic (6-1, 6-3), Ukrainian Kateryna Baindl (7-6 (5), 6-3), German Eva Lys, the No 7 seed (6-0 ret.) and Serb Olga Danilovic (6-1, 3-6, 6-4).
Rus, ranked No 101, defeated Suzan Lamens (6-1, 6-4), Croat Lea Boskovic (6-1, 6-1), Russian Polina Kudermetova (6-2, 6-4) and Romanian Elena-Gabriela Ruse (6-4, 6-3) in the previous rounds.
