Guangzhou Open: Top seed Siniakova beats Parks to reach last eight
The Czech will face the winner of the match between American Bernarda Pera and Chinese wildcard Shuai Zhang in the next round

Top seed Katerina Siniakova defeated American lucky loser Alycia Parks 6-1, 6-4 to advance to the quarter-finals of the Guangzhou Open at the Nansha International Tennis Center on Thursday.
Siniakova, ranked No 48, will play the winner of the match between American Bernarda Pera and Chinese wildcard Shuai Zhang next.
The Czech won against Croat qualifier Petra Martic (6-2, 6-1) in the previous round of the tournament.
Earlier in the week, Parks, ranked No 115, beat Hungarian Anna Bondar (6-3, 6-3).
